I am a painter of the sun, both in the sky above us and the light within us. The sun gives us life. Without the sun, without the light within...there is no life and we need to honor and respect it.
I have always been inspired by the Impressionists. The colors just grabbed me the first time I laid eyes on their works! The way they captured the light is stunning! I couldn't believe how those paintings stirred feelings so deep inside of me, and I knew that was what I wanted to do with my life. I to elicit that type of reaction in people who viewed my paintings.
I am also inspired by current day watercolor artist, Antonio Masi. He is a master at painting the beautiful, iconic bridges of New York City. I fell in love with his work the first time I saw it because I love the colors and his perspective!
To me...paintings are stories without words that can be passed down from one generation to the next. There are times when viewing a painting that there are no words to describe what you are seeing, but the feelings that well up inside of you say more than any words could.
I paint to capture the essence of what we all have in us, and are sometimes afraid to experience. I paint to have fun and let loose! Everyone has creativity within them...they just need to bring it out! Art changes the world!
